Six Flags Over Texas

Woooo Hooo!!! Six flags Over Texas was a blast! The family, meaning; Denise (future mother in-aw...maybe), Osie (Great Grandma to Peyton), Shannon (Cousin), Caity (Shannon's daughter and Peyton's most favorite person), Krystin and myself headed out to experience a little Christmas joy at Six Flags Holiday in the Park extravaganzaa!!

Let me tell you, when Peyton and Caity get together it is all out fun!! All you will ever hear is laughing and giggling...wait...wait.. you do get the occasional screams and thats fine but other than that, they love each other to death!! We arrived at the park and were ready to have some fun! We hopped on the tram and headed for the entrance. When we got in, we went straight to the tea cups! Boy oh boy I am not sure if I was ready for Peyton to ride the rides.... I am way to over protective... I did not let Mommy spin the cup once!! I just need to learn to relax and let go....mmm.. but that is not going to happen any time soon!

Anyways we rode the teacups, went on a ferris wheel, hopped on the kiddy swings and flew little airplanes. The kiddos had fun! They were even good sports about letting Mommy and Daddy ride a few rides too! Well to hear more about our trip to Six Flags you will have to watch our video blog below! So enjoy

Peyton's First Pumpkin Patch!

You know the saying, "Everything is Bigger in Texas!" Well it is true. The Dewberry Farm is the biggest pumpkin patch I have ever seen! Krystin and I have wanted to take the muffin to her first Pumpkin patch for quite sometime now and we couldn't resist the invite when Grandpa "Bubba" and Daniele told us about this "utopia" of a pumpkin patch. Did I just use the word "utopia"...mmm anyways... We loaded up our truck and headed to Houston for the weekend! We woke up bright and early Saturday morning and drove out to Dewberry Farm (http://www.dewberryfarm.com/). This place was awesome! There isn't enough time in the day to do everything...you could watch pig races, hay rides, corn maze, pumpkin patches, play areas, pony rides, pedal carts, corn canyons, and the list goes on and on!

We walked around for a bit and headed straight for the pumpkins. Like every family we wanted to grab those cute pumpkin patch pictures of our kid but...we quickly realized how spoiled Peyton is. I swear... my child was the only kid crying and not willing to walk to the pumpkin patch. She screamed and yelled "hold you..hold you" meaning hold me, hold me! Ugh...as a parent, I was a little bit embarrassed because the muffin was being a terror! But like any 2 year old, as quick as they can scream and yell, they could laugh and be merry! The rest of the time was a blast. The muffin head only needed a lit bit of time to come out of her shell and feel comfortable around all the other children at the pumpkin patch. At about these times in life, Mom tends to elbow me and mutter under her breathe, if we could just have another child for Peyton to play with...mutter mutter...like a brother... Peyton would respond better to these types of situations....and that is usually about the time when I pass out. One child is a handful for me, I could only imagine 2...but I am thinking about it!! :) lol..

Well take a look below at our trip to Dewberry Farm and let us know what you think:

Take Me out to the Ball Game!

"Programs Here! Get your Programs!!!" (said in a funny, announcer voice...you know the one)

Our night started off without a hitch, we packed Peyton's bag and headed off for the Rangers game. Krystin was so excited to bring Peyton to the ballpark, and I was a little weary. Peyton screamed, "Go Rangers... Go Rangers," all the way to the ballpark! We were all excited to get out and do something on a friday night. That night we met up with some friends and attempted to enjoy the game. The Rangers were clobbering the Rays and Peyton was having a blast. No she wasn't watching the game or care to look at the field, she was to busy trying to sit on the head of the gentleman sitting below us. She was antsy! She did not want to stay still one bit!

"Audible...Audible....!" We changed up our game plan!

We quickly decided to get out of our seats (only the 3rd inning) and grab something to eat. We decided our game plan would be to tire out this little beast so we could enjoy the last half of the game together. We chowed through our nachos and gulped our sodas but there was no sign of tiredness in the little muffins eyes! Eekkkkk.... Good thing we are not die hard baseball fans because we spent the remainder of the night......

Golden Rule Parents Learn:
Improvise

....in the halls playing soccer with an empty water bottle and watching the game on a monitor. Even though this isn't how I pictured watching the game, I had a blast!

The game ended! Rangers 8 Rays 3.... Victory!

We finally went back to our seats and sat down to watch the firework show! Boom!....Bammm!......Boom! the fireworks were off! Peyton frooze in awwe! She finally was sitting still in her seat. Mouth wide open, eyes wide open, head bent back, my daughter was amazed!!! She was so excited about the fireworks she was on cloud nine the rest of the night!

After the firework show she was out and it made for a peaceful ride home!
Living the Good Life!

On a side note my brother Matt and his girlfriend bought a puppy together named Roxy. See pictures below to view there new additon!! Peyton is doing her freaky face in the photo!!

Two thumbs "UP"

Today was an exciting Sunday! Krystin and I decided to take Peyton to her first movie. Just thinking about taking the Muffin to the movie made my stomach turn into knots and even turned a few of my hairs grey. Taking a child to the movies for the first time is risky business! It is like flipping a coin! It may be wonderful or it may be....well...um...a disaster. Well anyways, we sucked it up and sifted through the movie times and found the Movie "UP" Playing at a small cinema nearby. What attracted me was the $1.25 admission; you can't go wrong with that price. Meaning, if the muffin decides she is board and wants to start screaming in the middle of the theater....then fine..... We can just walk away and go home! It is always easier to walk away from a small investment!
So we picked the Showtime and we were off!! Uh Oh!! We were so excited about taking the muffin to the movies we never gave her a nap! So ZZZZZ...ZZZZZ.ZZZZ came from the back seat! She was out...not even a peep! Just...zzzzz..Zzzzz. I quickly thought to myself that this was going to be a lot easier than I thought...she may just sleep on my lap the whole time and we can tell everybody she was an angel at her first movie premiere...hehe.. Of course Mom was not on the same thought token I was on! Lol By the time we arrived at the movies, Peyton was still crashed out!

I took this time to grab a picture of us outside the Theater. It is easier to take pictures of toddlers when they are zonked! :) Otherwise you strain yourself trying to get them to hold still and smile! By the way this rarely happens all at one time.

We final made it to the box office, and at this time, Peyton was finally awake. We bought our tickets and with excitement entered the theater. We quickly got our seats and began to cross our fingers hoping for a smooth movie experience. I quickly popped out of my seat and ran to the concession stand to buy some popcorn, sour patch kids and some drinks! My reasoning: A happy, distracted kid is the best kid! Peyton was excited for her "Dink", that is how she says Drink! She also seemed to manage to get her hands on the sour patch kids, and wanted no part in sharing! Every time Mom or I would try to sneak a sour patch kid we got a screaming "NO! Mine!" so we figured we would not win this fight today and let her be!

The movie started and her face lit up! She was in the zone! Mom and I gave a little high five and started to relax and enjoy ourselves a little more! We were not sitting on pins and needles anymore!
The movie "Up" was awesome! Pixar Rocks! I have never been let down by them! The movie does a great job with the story line, humor, animation and being able to captivate adults as well as the children. Warning! Warning! The movie will make you choke up a little at the beginning and at the end....Us Dads will always try to hide it but we secretly cry too! lol

About 3/4 of the way through the movie...the muffin started to loose interest. She started to pick up old dirty popcorn off the floor and put it into our perfectly good bag! Ugh...gross...right???!! Well we noticed only after we saw her about to put a piece into her mouth.....ahhhhh... and in these moments I elbow Mom to come to the rescue and get her daughter in line! lol... Overall we had a great time! We gave Peyton a thumbs up for good behavior and a thumbs up to the movie "UP." So Two thumbs up it is!!! We had a blast!

Memorable Moments:
1. Peyton not sharing the Sour Patch Kids- "No Mommy...NO Daddy!"
2. Peyton had to put her sunglasses on because the character in the movie had glasses on
3. Sitting in a booster chair between Dad's Legs and staring up at the movie screen- she looked precious
4. Peyton saying, "Bye bye balloons," at the end of the movie!

PS...NO offense to anyone but a movie theater that has $1.25 tickets definitely draws in the weirdo’s. Yep..Yep..Yep! Maybe we are weirdo’s too!!

A Trip to the Zoo!! Hee-Haw!!!

We went to the Zoo we went to the Zoo, Hi-Ho the Dairy-O we went to the Zoo!!!! So it was just another saturday morning...except for the fact Nama was sleeping in the guest room. Nama...which is grandma for those of you who didn't catch on, came out to visit for her birthday. That what she said anyways.... It was really just to see the Muffin...aka.. Peyton! Well we woke bright and early because miss peyton had to see where Nama went...meaning find out where Nama slept... so Peyton went crashing in the guest room screaming " Morning..Morning...Nama...Get up! Get up!.." so Nama got up. We then instantly decided to make the most of our day and head to the Fort Worth Zoo. Peyton has been to the Zoo a few times before but was a little to young to appreciate all the animals...so this time around..made it a memorable day..a day that the Scott family will never forget. Most importantly, the Muffin Head got to spend it with Nama!!......ps...it also allowed me and Krystin to free load and let poor old Grandma pay for everything.. ;) lol Sucker!!! hehe...the best money I never spent!! :)

Sea Lion Impersonations!

This video below is a little clip of one memory we had in Cabo San Lucas. We were on a Sunset Cruise, sitting out on the bow of the boat and were inspired by the natural wild life that surrounded us. LOL I think it was the booze but lets say it was the inspiration of the beautiful wild life. Anyways, We all gave our best effort to do our impersonation of a Sea Lion! Take a look:

The above video is a sneak peak of our Los Cabos Vacation! We are currently working on editing a video that I shot when we were there! I think I am addicted to my video camera! So stay tuned for the whole show!!! it will be up shortly!.......ps Adios!
